JULIA YARBOUGH '87 - Anchor/Reporter
Julia Yarbough joined the NBC 6 team in South Florida in April 1998, as a general assignment reporter. An Emmy Award Winning journalist, Yarbough currently co- anchors the NBC 6 News at 5 p.m.. Julia came to NBC 6 from KCBS-TV in Los Angeles where she served as weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Prior to that, she worked in South Florida at WSVN-TV as morning and noon anchor. Julia began her career as an intern at KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara, Calif. before landing a reporting position in Pensacola, Fla., then moving to Louisville, Kentucky as anchor and reporter. Julia hold's a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Jim Rome '86- ESPN sports commentator
This respected voice in sports broadcasting, is known for his aggressive, informed, rapid-fire dialogue. Rome got his radio beginnings on Santa Barbara's KTMS as a traffic reporter and UCSB sports reporter, eventually working his way to the top by voicing his unique view of the larger issues in sports today. He may be heard on his nationally syndicated radio program, 'The Jim Rome Show,' or seen on ESPN's weekly, one-hour sports talk show 'Rome is Burning.' Click here for Jim Rome's website.
 
Richard Bey '72- Talk show host
This talk show host had long been in the business before gaining much notoriety for combining laughter and games with news topics on "The Richard Bey Show." Bey got his beginnings with talk shows "9 Broadcast Plaza," "People Are Talking" and "Night Games." He may now be heard on WABC's "The Buzz" discussing the days hot topics. Christine Craft '68- News reporter, talk show host
Christine Craft Craft is remembered not only as an experienced anchorwoman, but primarily for her lawsuit against a news station for breaching her contract with them due to her appearance. Since then she has continued to work as a broadcast journalist on radio and television. Visit her webiste here.
 
Rodger Hedgecock '68- Radio talk show host
Roger is the host of the Roger Hedgecock Community Forum on NewsRadio 600 KOGO in San Diego and worldwide over the internet on Real Audio. He previously broadcast on KSDO for over eleven years. In that time his broadcast has remained the number one talk radio program in San Diego, now for fifteen years. Click here for more information on Roger.
 
Paula Lopez '88- News anchorperson KEY News
As a local anchorperson, Lopez's career has included a series of award winning news programs. Some of her many triumphs includes anchoring the Emmy winning LA area 9 News at Noon and earning a Golden Mike Award for Best News Reporting from the Radio & Television association of SoCal. Lopez can currently be seen on KEYT News at 11:00.
 
Bob Sipchen '76- LA Times Editorial Writer
Bob recently received his second Pulitzer Prize, the 2002 award for Editorial Writing. Sipchen, a former writer for the Daily Nexus, recently joined the UCSB Press Council, which oversees both the Daily Nexus and the Radio Station KCSB.
