The UCSB Alumni Association invites you to attend the Chancellor's Regional Reception in Los Angeles to represent and promote your alma mater to future Gauchos and their family members! This is a great opportunity to share your educational experiences and college memories with high achieving students who have applied for admission to UC Santa Barbara for Fall 2010.
Prior to the reception, meet with UCSB Alumni Association Executive Director George Thurlow for a campus update and connect with other UC Santa Barbara alumni living in the Southern California area.
Immediately following, Chancellor Yang will speak to all UC Santa Barbara representatives including faculty, staff, students and alumni. You will then have the opportunity to mingle with prospective students and their parents as well as enjoy some refreshments. Stay for the full campus presentation—you’ll learn a lot about the continuing growth of UC Santa Barbara’s excellence—but you may depart as of 1:30 p.m., following the "meet and greet" session.
"Parents and prospective students really seem to enjoy the perspective and experiences of UCSB alums at the receptions. For me, it is wonderful to watch the joy and anxiety as young adults begin to explore the away from home college opportunity. The experience is a worthwhile way to give back and help attract the next generation of Gauchos." -- Jack Krouskup '71
"Welcoming these students and their parents into our community provides them with a critical personal connection and impresses upon our (prospective) future graduates the uniqueness of our campus and its dedicated alumni. You will also enjoy connecting with other alumni during the alumni pre-meeting and hearing about the recent campus accolades during the Chancellor's speech." -- Jodi Anderson '94
