Alumni Awards Honor Distinguished Gauchos
Richard Sanford, Peter Bouckaert '93, Dr. Walter Mead, and Dr. Yolanda Garcia '70, M.Ed. '72, Ph.D. '98, were honored for their accomplishments and contributions to UC Santa Barbara at the April 27 awards banquet. Congratulations!

UCSB Writing Program Director Visits White HouseLinda Adler-Kassner, the director of the UCSB Writing Program and former president of the Council of Writing Program Administrators (CWPA), took a trip to the White House on Friday, October 7, to meet with officials from the Department of Education and discuss improvements that can be made in the teaching of writing skills throughout the public school system.
