Summer 2010
Dear UCSB Alumni and Friends,
I'm pleased to announce a new addition to our Gaucho Getaways 2011 destinations. UCSB is one of the few first organizations to offer the Discovery Retreats. Coordinated in conjunction with the owner of the Discovery Channel™, John Hendricks, at his beautiful Gateway Canyons resort in Colorado, this is both an enrichment and outdoor adventure program. The brochure mailing was limited so please download the brochure from the website or call me for details if you are interested.
Recent events in Egypt have called for the cancellation of our February departure, and may call for deviations for another program. An important part of Gaucho Getaways is our relationship with our tour operators, knowing that your safety is foremost. We hope to offer you Egypt again in 2012, which will be an exciting time to witness may of the changes taking place in “New Egypt”.
Space is still available for Alaska, Normandy and Peru, as well as trips highlighted in this newsletter, I’m currently working on our 2012 schedule of departures but there are still plenty of opportunities to join us in 2011!

Stay Tuned For 2012 With Gaucho Getaways

2012 Gaucho Getaways will be formally announced late summer. In the meanwhile, check back with our website as destinations will be posted when finalized. Watch for two new concepts such as Lifestyle Explorations and Insider’s Perspective. Lifestyle Explorations are month-long programs for those who desire immersion into daily life in a region and will include language classes, living in an apartment and opportunities to travel regionally. Insiders Perspective are weeklong programs that focus intensively on the cultural and historical aspects of one town or city.
