This year, eight outstanding students were awarded a UC Santa Barbara Alumni Scholarship. The scholarship is given to current students who qualify for financial aid and demonstrate a high level of academic merit.

Scientists unveiled system that could destroy asteroids with evaporation. The system works as a means of mitigating potential threats posed to Earth by asteroids and comets.
