Dr. JoAnn Kuchera-Morin, a professor of electronic music at UCSB, strives to integrate the arts with science through her work as the director of the AlloSphere Research Facility at the California Nanosystems Institute.

Death to the Death Penalty
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed legislation outlawing the death penalty in his state in a decision based in part because an investigative team of reporters at the Chicago Tribune, including Steve Mills ’81, had methodically proven that death penalty cases throughout the U.S. were fraught with errors.
