Join us on this wonderful adventure
to the heart of Morocco, from its bustling medinas and architectural remnants
of ages past to its historic customs and modern-day culture. May is a delightful time to visit, with temperatures typically in the 70's and 80's. Explore Rabat, Fez,
and Marrakech, Ouarzazte, Zagora, Meknas and Erfoud—among other fabled places and UNESCO World Heritage
Sites. Experience a Morocco that is behind the well-traveled scenes through enrichment
discussions, a visit with a Berber Family and cultural visits. Highlights
include Fez, the cultural capital of old Morocco where one can still experience
the medieval world; the Atlas mountains with their Berber villages full of lush
gardens and mosaics; exquisitely decorated buildings for prayer, learning and
burial, the Sahara’s oceanic dunes, as well as the patio houses of Andalusia.
Leading this tour is guide/enrichment lecturer Fadel Gad. Fadel’s knowledge
and experience in comparative religions, spiritual studies and ancient art has
enabled him to fill lecture halls and engage large tour groups. He has conducted
several archeological excavations during his career and has been a popular guide
for the Gaucho Getaways trips to Egypt.
As the civilizations of Southern Spain
and Morocco share similar geography and climate as well as 800 years of close
cultural ties, our post-trip extension will feature Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
This UCSB exclusive departure is limited to 26 passengers.
