UCSB Library has a number of free, public exhibitions on display during All Gaucho Reunion. All are located on the first floor of the Library and can be viewed during the Library’s public hours of 10 AM to 9 PM, except for Campus by the Sea (see below). Please visit for more information.

AGR Kick Off: Prof Slam

This year's Kick-Off Bash will be held in tandem with a brand-new event; Prof Slam. From 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm come mingle with UCSB Alumni, Staff, Community Members, and Friends of the University. Enjoy drinks and heavy appetizers while celebrating the launch of yet another festive reunion weekend.

At 6:30 pm a new event will be taking place on Whalen Plaza (2nd floor terrace). Come see some of UCSB's most beloved professors give a rapid-fire depiction of the most interesting aspects of their research and fields of study.

UC Santa Barbara Early Childhood Care and Education Services (ECCES) Bids for Kids Fundraiser

This annual fundraiser, put on by the ECCES Parent Council, helps to raise money to support enrichment activities for the children such as bringing first responders, therapy dogs, and music or dance groups to the center. The funds also provide money to support teacher art projects and musical experiences in the classrooms. This year is extra special, as the center is celebrating its 50 TH Anniversary!

Please join us for light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments to celebrate, and check out the many great auction items highlighting local vendors while you’re there!

Natural Leaders: Emerging Women Leaders in Coastal Conservation Panel. Followed by In Field Sunset Beach Walk

Evening reception and panel discussion with UCSB alumni, faculty, and researchers who are dynamic women leaders in their respective coastal environmental fields. Each panelist links back to one of the environmental areas celebrating a big anniversary on campus. They are all working on balancing human and nature needs in the land-sea interface (e.g. sea level rise, beach ecology, aquaculture, wildlife protection, and pollution). Small bites and drinks on the MSI patio or at the Reef, followed by a guided beach walk and possibly some beach ecology field monitoring activities at Campus Point (sunset is at 7:40pm.

Celebration of Life: Donn Bernstein

Gauchos from around the country will celebrate the life and career of Donn Bernstein in the Thunderdome. The event will feature a short program that includes a video, and will leave plenty of time for catching up. Bernstein was the UCSB Sports Information Officer from 1964-71, as well as a die-hard Gaucho booster for his entire life. He passed away in New York last year.

UCSB Natural History Collection Tour: A look at UCSB's history and research through our natural history collections

The UCSB Natural History Collections at the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration hold over half a million specimens of birds, mammals, insects, reptiles and plants. The founders of the Herbarium and the Vertebrate Collections, Drs. C.H. Muller and Mary Erickson, respectively, and subsequent contributors to the botanical and zoological collections represent some of the UC Santa Barbara leaders in ecology, behavior, plant structure, and the development of modern systematics. For over 60 years these valuable collections have contributed to the research and educational missions of the University. During the open house, visitors will tour the collections and see the specimens from some of UCSB's past, including collections of Katherine Esau, Vernon Cheadle, C.H. Muller and many other famous gauchos.
