The UC Santa Barbara Alumni Scholarship Program seeks to empower the next generation of leaders by investing in their college experience. Gifts to these funds provide the most qualified and highest achieving students with the opportunity to excel at their studies by removing some of the financial stress.
Alumni Scholarship Fund
The Alumni Scholarship Fund, established in 2008, is one of the most flexible scholarship funds at UC Santa Barbara. 268 scholarships totaling $436,800 have been awarded since its inception.
Class of 1969 50th Reunion Scholarship Fund
The Class of 1969 has been incredibly active in making the world a better place. The Class of 1969 50th Reunion Scholarship Fund seeks to invest in current student leaders who are making a difference at UCSB or in the community.
Cal Eta SAE Memorial Scholarship
The Cal Eta SAE Memorial Scholarship recognizes UC Santa Barbara students who have displayed strong leadership skills and attributes. Scholarships are awarded to enrolled UCSB undergraduates with financial need that have been elected to office as a current or past student leader. Gifts to the Cal Eta SAE Memorial Scholarship support students following the chapter’s dedication to service, leadership, and philanthropy.
Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity-UCSB Kappa Pentaton Chapter Alumni Scholarship Fund
The Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity-UCSB Kappa Pentaton Chapter Alumni Scholarships are awarded to enrolled UCSB undergraduates with financial need and that have demonstrated a strong resolve to serve the greater good of the UC Santa Barbara campus. Gifts to the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity-UCSB Kappa Pentaton Chapter Alumni Scholarship support students following the chapter's dedication and passion for service, leadership, and philanthropy.
Alumni Live Like Regi Fund
The Live Like Regi Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Captain Reginald "Regi" Jerome Johnson to honor his outstanding contributions and service to our country as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marines Corps. Regi '94 (Math), was a hurdler on the UCSB Track and Field team, and fraternity brother of Phi Sigma Kappa. Gifts to the Live Like Regi Fund support undergraduate students enrolled in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), with a preference toward students studying in STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and/or participants in an intercollegiate sport.
The Jevon and Nancy B. Hadley Alumni Scholarship Fund
The Jevon and Nancy B. Hadley Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in honor and memory of Nancy (Walker) Hadley ’89 who passed away in 2023. Nancy and her husband Jevon's time at UC Santa Barbara was the foundation of a shared life marked by creativity, art, family, friendship, and love. Gifts to this fund will support undergraduate students, with a preference to students majoring in Art or English.
Wendy V.C. Purcell and Kenneth L. Wilton Alumni Scholarship Fund

Lorin '68 and Karen Letendre Art Scholarship
The Lorin '68 and Karen Letendre Art Scholarship, aims to award one undergraduate and one graduate student per year for their exceptional artistic talent. Lorin and Karen are longtime patrons and lovers of the arts and have generously supported artists at UC Santa Barbara for years.
Buchanan Award
This award was created by the UCSB Alumni Association in memory of A. Russell Buchanan, Professor of History from 1936 to 1973. The award of $500 each year is presented to a graduating senior majoring in History or History of Public Policy, for superior scholarship, undergraduate achievement, and potential for graduate research and continued success in the field.

Vernon I. Cheadle Award
The Vernon I. Cheadle Award was established by the UCSB Alumni Association in honor of Dr. Cheadle's outstanding service to UCSB. Dr. Cheadle served as the second Chancellor of UCSB from 1962 to 1977. The Award of $500 is to honor a UC Santa Barbara undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates a passion for research or creative activities in the following areas: plant science, ecology, restoration and conservation, environmental management or science education.
